Airtel Rwanda customers allowed to withdraw 4 million a day to prevent COVID-19
As measures
continue to be taken to prevent spread
of the Coronavirus, Airtel Rwanda's are also in the process of fighting for its
customers to the best of their ability to prevent a rise in the number of
infected people, that’s why in collaboration with the Central Bank of
Rwanda ( BNR) has set up customers using Airtel Money to withdraw more
than 4 m from the existing 1 m.
Airtel
Rwanda has introduced these measures to prevent the transmission of Coronavirus
through money transfers, which in turn reinforces other existing strategies in
the form of money transfers and free text messaging.
In an effort
to mitigate the effects of the global Coronavirus epidemic, Airtel Rwanda has
worked closely with the Central Bank of Rwanda on technology payment
facilitation.
These
measures will be implemented immediately, in addition to the free money
transfer program:
customers using Airtel Money to withdraw more than 4 m from the existing 1 m.
Now Airtel
Money users can send and receive up to 4 million in one day as opposed to they
could not exceed 1 million per day.
• No more
money will be deducted from the depositor or depositor between the bank account
and Airtel Money.
• Now
traders who accept payment through Airtel Money can withdraw the money they
have traded, for free.

Airtel
continues to work closely with a team set up by the Government of Rwanda to
closely monitor changes in Coronavirus, and continues to do its utmost to
reduce human-to-human exchanges.
