Airtel Rwanda continues to play a key role in fighting COVID-19

On Friday, May 01, 2020, Airtel Rwanda presented a grant to the Government of Rwanda to help fight the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.


It is a grant of 135 million five hundred and sixty-four thousand Rwandan francs (135,564,000frw) to the Minister of Health of Rwanda, Dr Ngamije Daniel, who will help health workers especially in the fight against and the coronavirus epidemic, where Airtel Rwanda has chosen to join them in the challenges they face in these difficult times.

Speaking on the occasion, Airtel Rwanda CEO Amit Chawla said ‘’Today we are grateful for this opportunity to contribute to the fight against COVID-19. This support is a sign of our appreciation to the medical staff for their continued contribution to the implementation of the Rwandan government's program to prevent this global epidemic ‘’.

It was while the Minister of Health, Dr Ngamije Daniel thanked Airtel Rwanda for its support, said what it would do, and assured it of cooperation for the benefit of the people. Dr Ngamije said ‘’We are truly grateful to Airtel Rwanda for its support. This is a testament to the humanitarian partnership of Airtel and we assure you that it will help us in the national program set up to combat COVID-19. We will continue to work together for the benefit of our people’’.
