Airtel Rwanda has reduced its out of bundle prices by 90%

Airtel Rwanda has reduced its out of bundle rate from 51Rwf/Mb to 5Rw/Mb. This reduction takes effect from today August 25th 2020.  Most of our customers have since resolved to working from home due to the current state of the global pandemic. In this period affordability of the internet has been a key concern for many and Airtel wants to make a difference, by making data affordable to all.

According to a GSMA, State of Mobile Internet Connectivity Report 2019the internet has revolutionised our global society at unprecedented speed, with the mobile being a key tool supporting its rapid acceleration. The internet makes life-enhancing information and services available at the touch of a button, while mobile technology brings it into the palms of our hands.

Announcing the new offer, Airtel Rwanda’s Managing Director, Amit Chawla said: “With the new rate, we enable our customers to get more value. This new rate will avoid the shocks and surprises of customers who will continue to browse well after exhausting their bundles. The new rate is in response to our customers, you asked and we have delivered. This underlines our commitment to continually enhance the value that we deliver to our customers.”

‘Airtel is committed to delivering innovative and affordable mobile Internet value propositions that will make life richer, better and more meaningful for Rwandans,” he said.

Subscribers can also sign up for data bundle by dialing *255# and follow the prompts.  The out of bundle offer applies when one’s data bundle is depleted and they are yet to renew another.  When subscribers sign up for another bundle before the existing one expires, the out of bundle will not apply and they will be able to carry forward their unused MBs from the old bundle.

This comes as the company has intensified its network expansion and optimization across the country to ensure 3G coverage throughout Rwanda. The internet helps people to keep in touch, obtain news and information, enhance their education and access financial services, health information, clean energy and water.
