Airtel Rwanda customers will no longer be charged for sending money

Airtel Rwanda continues to accelerate the delivery of services related to calling, internet and sending and receiving money .

Today, June 3, 2021, Airtel announced that it customers will no longer be charged for sending money  

Speaking to staff about the changes, Airtel Rwanda CEO Amit Chawla said, “Airtel is well aware of the challenges customers face due to the Covid-19 epidemic, which is why we want to help customers send and receive any money for free . every day for a long time. ”

P2P (Meaning between 2 people) is known as a service used by millions of Rwandans who send money every day. 

Mr Amit continued: “We are delighted to enable customers to move up to 2,000,000 RWF per transaction for up to 3 transactions a day for free with ‘’.

Rwandans now have the opportunity to save, so that at some point they may have become more, so that Airtel customers will be able to use it for a variety of other needs.

This comes after a reduction in agent withdrawal rates, which reduced Airtel Money by 20% compared to elsewhere. ”

These changes come in addition to the establishment of Airtel Money service stores that have been launched in support of the existing Airtel branches.

These stores, now called Airtel Money branches, are available in every Kigali city office and help customers and agents to deposit and withdraw any amount of money per week with a reduction in the cost of Airtel SIM cards, it can be purchased at the Agent or Service Center for only 200 RWF, previously it cost 500 RWF.

Speaking at the launch, Airtel Rwanda CEO Amit Chawla said: "We are determined to continue to create programs that value our customers, and I urge every Rwandan to use Airtel Money because they will spend money elsewhere to provide this service."
